Daily Devotional Rev. Johnnie Flakes,III - April 28, 2009

Good morning,

Our devotion for today comes from Ezekiel 37:14 "I will put my Spirit in you and you will live."

Wherever you are today, meditate on this; there are moments in each of our lives when we seem to be drowning in the turbulent emotions of a desperate crisis.  At those times, it may seem difficult to reach out to God and receive His comfort.  But those are also the times when we need Him most.

It grieves God to see us try to endure those troubling times alone, to hear our agony as if we were on the other side of a closed door.  He could come crashing through the door, but that is not His way.  He has placed within each of us a free will, a freedom of choice that He will not override.  No matter what you may be going through today, your best recourse is to invite God to come inside and touch your hurting heart with His loving, healing hand.

You may be too confused and distraught to know what you need.  But He knows.  And once you invite Him in, He will give you all the strength, encouragement, love, and comfort you need.

Don't face the tragedies of your life alone.  Reach out and unlock the door.  No matter what you are facing.  He is the answer.

Have a blessed reaching out day!

Your brother in Christ,
J. H. Flakes, III
